Perfect Bride Fang Ling Boss Guide

Perfect Bride Fang Ling is a Main Boss in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This guide will detail her weaknesses, resistances, location, and provide a comprehensive strategy on how to defeat her. You will also find a list of her moves and the rewards you’ll receive upon her defeat.

Defeating Perfect Bride Fang Ling requires a mix of preparation, the right equipment, and understanding her attack patterns. Follow these steps to claim victory.

  1. Follow Our Recommended Build Guide

We recommend specific builds that are highly effective against Fang Ling. Clashes are the most effective technique against her, as she doesn’t stagger from Deflects like Honglan does. A successful Clash lessens her damage and allows you to continue your combo without flinching. The Clash Dual Blades Build is particularly strong for this fight. Other viable builds include the Stagger Longsword, Flame Spear, Immortal Axe, and Magic Shortsword.

  2. Equip the Dracolich Pendant

Fang Ling roars at the start of both of her phases, which will cause you to flinch if you are within the radius. Equip the Dracolich Pendant, obtained from the Mercury Workshop, to prevent this. This will grant you a crucial window to stay close and deal damage while she is locked in the roar animation.

  3. Wear Armor with High Slash, Stab, and Poise Resistance

In her first phase, Fang Ling primarily uses her dual blades for slash and stab attacks. To mitigate this damage, we recommend the North General Armor set. To unlock it, you must first defeat Ai Nengqi to get the Seven Treasure Rosary, which you can then give to Tao Qing. Other excellent alternatives include the Ming Armor set and the Centipede Armor set.

  4. Utilize Skills that Deflect and Clash

Focus on clashing with Fang Ling’s blade strikes rather than just dodging. Clashing reduces incoming damage and allows you to maintain your offensive pressure. This will gradually break her Poise, opening her up for powerful Obliterate Strikes.

  5. Use Her Opening Attack to Stack Skyborn Might

At the start of the fight, Fang Ling hangs from the ceiling and fires projectiles. You can perform Perfect Dodges on these shots to gain up to four stacks of Skyborn Might. Keep your distance to encourage her to continue firing before she drops down, allowing you to build up this powerful buff.

Fang Ling has two distinct phases, each with a unique set of attacks.

During her first phase, Fang Ling attacks primarily with her dual blades, which inflict significant Poise Break buildup. She will also occasionally strike with the monstrous extension on her shoulders.

MoveDetails
Hanging Blood ShotsHer opening attack. She hangs from the ceiling, fires four blood shots, then drops down. Dodge the projectiles and stay clear of the center of the arena to avoid her landing.
Aerial Arc SpinFang Ling performs a multi-hit spinning attack in the air. Dodge to the side to avoid the entire sequence.
Dashing StabShe readies her blade, which shines before she dashes forward with a stab. Dodge forward to get behind her for a counterattack.
Charged StabSimilar to the Dashing Stab, but she readies both blades and has a longer charge time. Dodge forward just as the light flashes.
Blade StrikesFang Ling enters a semi-crouching stance before unleashing a blade combo. This is a good opportunity to deflect or you can dodge away.
Triple StabsShe builds momentum and delivers three consecutive stabs. The timing between stabs matches your dodge interval, making them easy to evade.
Scissor CutsShe readies her blades for three quick scissor-like snaps, followed by a final slash. Focus on dodging backward with each attack.
Blood ShotThe monster on her back charges briefly before firing a blood projectile. Dodge in any direction to avoid it.
Blood BeamThe monster fires a beam of blood along the ground that explodes shortly after. Dodge to the side to avoid both the beam and the subsequent explosion.

Upon entering phase two, Fang Ling transforms into a monstrous chimera, losing her blades and adopting a completely new moveset.

MoveDetails
Beastly RoarHer opening attack in Phase 2. The Dracolich Pendant negates the flinch, allowing you to attack freely. Alternatively, keep your distance and use Spells or Throwables.
Ground PoundThe chimera raises a hand and slams it down. Dodge to the side or backward. Be prepared for follow-up attacks.
Ferocious BitesA sequence of bites: a lunge, two quick bites, and a final charged bite. Dodge to the side to create an opening for your own attacks.
Side Claw StrikesA claw strike from her side to the front. Watch which side the attack originates from. This is often followed by a Tail Whip.
Tail WhipA follow-up attack after a Side Claw Strike. Dodge in any direction to avoid it.
Relentless StrikesThe chimera pounds the ground multiple times, ending with a two-handed slam. Stay near its side to avoid the initial pounds, then dodge the final leap attack.
Forward ChargeA quick charge across the arena. Dodge to either side as it gets close.
Lunge AttackThe chimera lunges its entire body towards you. Dodge to the side or forward to avoid the attack; dodging backward is not recommended.
Spinning BeamsThe chimera spins while firing a blood beam that explodes on contact with the ground. You can safely stay close to the boss during this attack to land a few hits.
Falling CrimsonThe chimera roars (this one does not cause a flinch) and summons falling debris with a crimson glow. The debris has a splash radius. Keep moving continuously to avoid being hit.
