Chapter 1 Walkthrough Guide

This is a complete, step-by-step walkthrough for Chapter 1: Worship’s Rise in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This guide covers the critical path from the start of the game through all major locations, bosses, and key item discoveries to ensure you miss nothing.

1. Reverent Temple

Meet the Main NPCs

Your journey begins as Bai Wuchang awakens. After gaining control, proceed into the main area of the Reverent Temple. Here, you will find four key characters: Xuanyangzi, Qiao Lin, Tao Qing, and Yu Xia. Speak with all of them to receive your initial quests, which will direct you towards the Shu Sanctum.
Face the Tutorial Boss

Before you venture out, head down to the docks just outside the temple. Find and speak to the Boatman. This will trigger a dream sequence where you will face Bai Kru. This is a tutorial boss designed to teach you the fundamentals of combat; you are not expected to win.
Find the First Shrine

After exiting the temple, your first stop is the riverbank. Speak with He Youzai there; he will give you the Bamboo Lantern. Once you have it, turn right and start following the riverbank.

Your path will lead you to a large, wooden scaffolding. However, before you reach it, you will encounter a small enemy camp. When you defeat the enemies here, you will receive the Gourd Pendant as a reward.

Continue by climbing to the very top of the scaffolding. Once you reach the summit, you will find and be able to activate the Buddha Cliffs Shrine.

2. Buddha Cliffs

Acquire Your First Spell

From the Buddha Cliffs Shrine, descend the nearby ladder and enter the cave in front of you. Inside, you will immediately find your first Spell, the Vorpal Blade. The game will then guide you on how to perform a Plunging Attack on the enemy positioned below.
Defeat the Tang Palace Maid

In the clearing just ahead, you will be confronted by the Tang Palace Maid, a swift and agile mini-boss. The key to this fight is to get behind her to perform a backstab, which will open her up for a devastating Obliterate attack.

Upon her defeat, she will drop your first Benediction, the Bu - Skyborn Ward.
Gather Key Items

The path leading away from the boss area is rich with items. Explore thoroughly to find the Delicate Armor Set in a hidden camp, the Red-Tasseled Spear, the Lost Package quest item, and the Entwined Legend Pendant. Your next destination is the Lightzen Temple entrance at the end of this path. Be prepared for an ambush, as an enemy is hidden just behind the gate.

3. Lightzen Temple

Clear the Entrance

As you step into the temple grounds, you’ll see a group of enemies gathered near some explosive barrels. Throw a Fire Pot at the barrels for an easy multi-kill. Afterwards, search the area. On a nearby table, you can pick up the Darkfrost Edge weapon. Be wary of a hidden enemy waiting to ambush you from the right.
Defeat Man-Eating Dhutanga

Make your way through the temple area, heading behind the main shrine building. Inside the temple, you can find the Golden Bowl. Go through the door on the far side to confront the area’s mini-boss, the Man-Eating Dhutanga.

Victory is rewarding. The boss drops the Lightzen Key and the Copper Jug.
Exit to the Narrow Stretch

Use the Lightzen Key on the locked door across from the area’s shrine. This new path will lead you out of the temple and towards an area known as the Narrow Stretch. Along this path, you will meet an important NPC named Nian Suichang. Accept his request; in return, he will give you the Bone Whistle, a key item that allows you to summon him for assistance in certain fights.

4. Shu Sanctum

Activate the Sanctum Shrine

From Nian Suichang, proceed up the large stone staircase. When you reach the top, you’ll be at the entrance of the Shu Sanctum. Your immediate priority is to secure a checkpoint. To do this safely, take the path to your right. This route allows you to bypass some of the more challenging enemies. Follow this path to find and activate the Shu Sanctum Shrine.
Explore the Sanctum

Once the shrine is active, it is highly recommended to explore the entire Sanctum area before fighting the main boss. This will allow you to level up and gather crucial gear. You will find:
- Ming Armor Set: Dropped by the Ming Soldier at the front of the Sanctum.
- Un-Equilibrium Blades: Found near a carriage in the settlement across the ladders.
- Bamboo Courtyard: A side-path leads here. Speak to the NPCs to get the Courtyard Key.
- Worship’s Rise Area: Another side-path containing the Militia Armor Set, Infernal Flames spell, and Wei - Plunging Force Benediction.
- Mountain Peak: A path up the mountain contains a guard protecting a Brilliant Red Feather and the Wei - Vitality Power Benediction. You can also kick down a tree to create a shortcut.
- Shortcut to Reverent Temple: You can eventually find and unlock a gate that leads back to the start. Near this gate is a house containing the Bu - Blocking Clash Benediction.
- Cave with NPCs: At the edge of the Sanctum, a cave houses the Storyteller and Panda NPCs.
Defeat Lu Bingzhang

When you are fully prepared, return to the Shu Sanctum Shrine and go up the main stairs to the top-most floor. Enter the large doors to fight the area boss, Lu Bingzhang.

Defeating him is a major milestone. He will drop the crucial Shu Sanctum Key.
Open the Path to the Workshop

Take the Shu Sanctum Key to the bottom floor of the Sanctum. Use it on the central pillar to rotate the structure and reveal a new, descending path into the Mercury Workshop.

5. Mercury Workshop

Navigate the Corrupted Tunnels

Enter the newly opened path leading down. This entire area is filled with hazardous violet clouds that will build up your Corruption meter. Move quickly and avoid lingering in the mist. Follow the ramps downward until you find the Mercury Workshop Shrine, but beware of an enemy ambush on your left just before it.
Explore the Structure

The workshop is a large, multi-layered vertical area. Your goal is to reach the bottom. As you explore, release a kick-down ladder near the shrine to create a shortcut and access the Dracolich Pendant. On a platform with two enemies using guns, you’ll find the Lashing Whip. A unique Dancing Enemy in a side tunnel will drop a Faint Red Feather.
Reach the Bottom Floor

Use ladders and drop down on withered branches to continue your descent. You will eventually find a large door leading to the lowest section. At the very bottom, cross a series of bridges. Search the central island here to find the Twin Infant Pendant and Lost Remains.
Enter the Bandit Cave

After crossing the final bridge at the bottom of the workshop, follow the path and go through the entrance on your left. This will lead you into the Bandit Cave.

6. Bandit Cave

Activate the Shrine

As you enter the new area, follow the path up a small hill. At the top, you can unlock and activate the Bandit Cave Shrine.
Defeat the Great Centipede

From the shrine, go down the ramp all the way to the bottom. In the large, open area to your right, you will face the optional boss, the Great Centipede. It is a challenging fight that rewards you with the Taoist Token and Believer’s Statue.
Ascend the Tower of Sacrifice

To the left of the boss arena, a slope leads up to the Tower of Sacrifice. Take the elevator to the top. As you ascend, make sure to explore the platforms on the sides of the tower to pick up the Shi - Vitality Ward Benediction and a Faint Red Feather.

7. Doomwillow Beach

Find the Real Shrine

Proceed forward from the Tower of Sacrifice. The path will lead you directly to Doomwillow Beach. On your way, find He Youzai and give him the Lost Package to obtain the Record of the Southern Archipelago and the Pirate Armor Set. As you enter the main beach area, you will see a shrine on your left. This is a mimic! Attack and defeat it to reveal the true, safe shrine.
Explore Lu Mansion

From the real shrine, it’s recommended to take the path on the right up the mountain. This leads to the optional Lu Mansion area. Explore the cave here and defeat a vase mimic to obtain a Faint Red Feather and the Shi - Rising Defense Benediction.
Meet the Red-Clad Lady

Return to the main path. At the top of a ladder, you can kick down a structure to create a bridge. This leads directly to the Red-Clad Lady. The Divine Might Spell is to her left. Talk to her to get the Sheng - Backstab Rejuvenation Benediction.
Defeat Soulwood

Go down the path from the Red-Clad Lady’s location. A long path to your right will lead you straight to the Corpse Pits, where you must defeat the area’s main boss, Soulwood. Once it is defeated, activate the Corpse Pits Shrine and go up the nearby slope towards Palace Pass.

8. Tang Emperor’s Palace

Enter the Palace Grounds

At the top of the slope, you will enter Palace Pass. Proceed through the area, unlock the large door at the end, and cross the bridge. Follow the mountain path upwards to reach the palace proper.
Solve the Water Puzzle

To access the central palace, you must first drain the water blocking the path. From the Palace Hill shrine, head down the left path to find the Buddha Statue. Return to the shrine, go up the hill on your right, and place the statue in its slot. This will drain the water, opening the way forward.
Explore the Palace

The palace grounds are heavily guarded.
- Fight an optional Tang Palace Maid again in one of the halls to get the Palace Maid Armor Set, a Brilliant Red Feather, and the Hall of Music Key.
- Find the Eagle Pendant in a small chest.
- Interact with the Benediction Gate and choose “The winged Ascension” to receive the Sheng - Lasting Alacrity Benediction.
Final Boss: Honglan

Proceed into the now-accessible, drained central area. Here you will confront the final boss of Chapter 1, Commander Honglan. This is a difficult, multi-phase fight that will test all your skills.

After the fight, you will awaken back in the Reverent Temple and obtain the Wei - Combo Force Benediction and the Reverent Temple Key, officially concluding the chapter.
