Chapter 2 Walkthrough Guide

This is a complete, step-by-step walkthrough for Chapter 2: Cloudspire in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. After the events at the Tang Emperor’s Palace, Bai Wuchang’s pursuit of Commander Honglan leads her to the frigid and dangerous region of Cloudspire.

1. Hillswatch

Activate the Hillswatch Shrine

Your journey into this new region begins by crossing a large bridge. Once on the other side, you will find the Hillswatch Shrine. Activate it immediately to secure your checkpoint.

After activating the shrine, take the path to the left to begin your ascent up the hill and into the nearby village.
Create a Shortcut

Proceed through the series of houses in the village. Your path will eventually lead you to another bridge on your left. Before crossing, engage the enemy straight ahead. Defeating this enemy will reward you with the Coral Bracelet.

After securing the bracelet, take the path to the left of where the enemy was. This will lead you to a ladder you can kick down, creating a valuable shortcut that leads directly back to the Hillswatch Shrine.
Meet New NPCs

Return to the main path up the hill and continue forward until you reach a passage at the top. To your right, you can speak with two NPCs, Li Dingo and Sun Kewang. They will give you Kong Wine and Spicy Soup.
Proceed to Snowy Passage

With the items collected, cross the bridge directly in front of you. This bridge will lead you out of Hillswatch and into the Snowy Passage, where another shrine awaits.

2. Mort Grotto

Enter the Grotto

From the Snowy Passage shrine, exit the small cave and take the snowy path down to your right. This path will lead you to a bridge that marks the entrance to Mort Grotto. Before you cross, you can find an NPC on a ramp to your left who will give you the Vitality Bowl.
Explore the Cave Entrance

Once you cross the bridge, you’ll see a statue. If you use the “Worship” emote in front of it, you’ll be rewarded with a Soulgrass. After this, proceed to the right and enter the main cave system.
Defeat the Overseer

Inside, you’ll enter an area with several enemies mining ore. In the middle of this passage is a glowing elite enemy. Focus on defeating it; it will drop the full Overseer’s Armor Set and a Red Mercury Essence. Once the area is clear, go up the ladder on your left.
Navigate the Upper Platforms

At the top of the ladder, turn right and follow the wooden platform to its end. This allows you to bypass the rocks below, which can build up the Despair status effect. At the other end, go down another ladder, turn right, and use the nearby elevator.
Unlock the Cloudspire Outskirts Path

Get off the elevator at its first stop and follow the path. At the end, you’ll find a camp with three enemies. Defeat them and lower the bridge here, which creates the main path forward to the Cloudspire Outskirts.
Find the Mort Grotto Shrine

Go back to the elevator and ride it down to its lowest point. Take the path to the right and pick up the pink glowing item to receive an Oil Lamp. Cross the bridge here to find and activate the Mort Grotto Shrine.
Find the Rebel Camp Elevator

Near the shrine, pass through a small cave. Outside, a small chest on your right contains the Fa - Combo Ignition Benediction. To your left is the elevator that will take you up to the Rebel Camp, a major sub-area.

3. Cloudspire Outskirts

Ascend the First Area

From the village entrance (after crossing the bridge from Mort Grotto), turn left and climb the stairs. In a tent to your right, defeat the enemies and open a chest to get Lost Remains. Proceed to the right and climb the ladder behind a shack to find the Obliterate Rejuvenation Benediction.
Light the First Beacon

Return to the main staircase and head towards the highest building on the right. Climb this first tower and use the brazier at the top to light a fire, burning the Red Tree below. A nearby chest contains the Gunpowder Spear. You can now also activate the first shrine near the now-burnt tree.
Light the Second Beacon

From the first tower, climb the ladder in front of you to reach the second Red Tree area. Take the left path and stick to the right wall until you find a ladder leading up to the second tower.

Climb this tower and light the fire to burn the second Red Tree. Defeat the Ming Guard here to obtain a Brilliant Red Feather and open a chest for a Forgotten Remembrance.
Explore the Burning House Area

Go down from the second tower and head right until you reach a burning house. To the right of the house, a special enemy drops the Darkfrost Flames spell. In front of the house, you can pick up another Brilliant Red Feather and face an Inner Demon that drops Bo Blood.
Light the Third Beacon & Lower the Bridge

Go back towards the second tower area and take the path that leads you past a cannon. At the cliff’s edge, you’ll find the third and final tower.

Climb the tower and light the fire. This will burn the third Red Tree and, crucially, lower the main bridge that leads to Cloudspire City. A chest near this beacon contains the Backstab Force Benediction.
Infiltrate the Rebel Camp

Near the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine, use the Golden Benediction Gate to teleport to the Rebel Camp area. Make your way through the mines, where you can find the Child’s Hope Pendant. Eventually, a ladder will lead up into a well.
Clear the Rebel Camp

Climb out of the well and clear the camp of enemies. Under the archer’s tower, you can find a Brilliant Red Feather. In the last tent on the left (beware the cannon inside), you’ll find a chest with the Bravery Pendant.
Obtain the Key for the Boss

Near the Rebel Camp Shrine, you’ll find a key enemy. Defeating him is essential, as he drops the Rebel Camp Key (which unlocks the boss area), the Thunderstorm spell, and the Secret Letter valuable item.
Defeat Ai Nengqi

With the key, take the hillpath on the left from the shrine to reach the gate leading to the General of the North, Ai Nengqi. Defeat this major boss.
Defeat Liu Cheng’en

After defeating Ai Nengqi, the path to the main bridge will be clear. Cross the bridge, where you will be intercepted by another boss, Ming General Liu Cheng’en. You must defeat him to finally enter Cloudspire City proper.

4. Cloudspire City

Enter the City

After beating Liu Cheng’en, continue across the bridge. Turn left from the courtyard and pass through an open building. As you exit, turn left again to find a small chest with the Burning Ignition Benediction.
Find He Youzai

Turn around and enter the building guarded by a Sword and Shield enemy. Go to the second floor and follow the building’s ramparts until you find He Youzai.
Reach the City Shrine

From He Youzai’s location, turn left, then take the uphill path on the right until you reach another courtyard. Here you can give the Shu Silk Scarf to Fang Yao. Proceed to the end of the road from this courtyard to find and activate the Cloudspire City Shrine.
Navigate the Bazaar and Rooftops

This city is a complex, multi-layered area. Your exploration will involve:
- Unlocking shortcuts back to the main shrine.
- Navigating a cave path that leads to the Cloudspire Bazaar.
- Finding a Brilliant Red Feather in a tent near Glut’s location in the Bazaar.
- Climbing buildings to navigate the Rooftops and access new areas.
Reach the Snowfall Palace

Eventually, you will unlock a path leading towards the grand palace at the top of the city. As you head up the final snowy path, stick to the left to avoid a large rolling boulder. Follow the stairs to the top to reach the Snowfall Palace Shrine.

5. Snowfall Palace

Enter the Palace

From the shrine, take the stairs up and head to the right to enter the palace. In the first room, turn left and defeat the Senior Palace Maiden. A small chest she was guarding contains the Dragonling Pendant.
Use the Elevator Mechanism

In the main hall, find and use the central mechanism. This will reveal a room elevator. Step on the pedestal to ride it to the second level. Here you can speak with the Plain Warrioress and find the Bloodied Letter, Swift Frostbite Benediction, and Waspomancy spell.
Access the Treasury

Ride the elevator back down, but step off the pedestal before it stops. A lower compartment will now be accessible, which leads to the treasury. Inside, you must fight an Inner Demon. Defeating it rewards you with the Boreal Abyss weapon, Bo Blood, and a Feathering Needle.
Unlock the Path to the Shaft

Return to the Snowfall Palace Shrine. Head to the large door on the right of the main stairs and use the elevator there to reach the lower level. Open the huge door on the right to finally reach the final area and unlock the Shaft.
